A Chinese broadcasting station melody is being registered as trademark

According to Xinhua news agency, Chine will soon register its first sound trademark – a melody of a public broadcasting station.

The State Department for Industry and Commerce intends for approving the application filed by International Radio of China. From 2013, upon amendments made to the effective laws, the said agency has received about 450 applications.

Sound goods are represented, for instance, by Nokia theme song and McDonald’s fastfood restaurant chain’s phrase «I'm lovin' it».
